Participation in CONSOLFOOD 2025: Advancing Sustainable Solutions with VET to Stop Deforestation in Burundi
We are proud to announce that Elena and Dr. Dieudonné Nimubona Rukundo will be presenting at CONSOLFOOD 2025, the 6th International Conference on Solar Thermal Food Processing, held in Marseille, France. Their presentation titled "VET To Stop Deforestation in Burundi" highlights innovative vocational education and training approaches designed to combat deforestation through sustainable solar technologies.
The event will feature a live demonstration and exhibition of solar ovens hosted at Le Présage — Europe’s first solar-powered restaurant — offering attendees a unique insight into solar cooking solutions transforming food processing and environmental impact.
During the technical sessions, the V2SDF (Vocational Education and Training to Stop Deforestation) project will be showcased, emphasizing the critical role of solar thermal technology in promoting eco-friendly food industry practices and rural development in Burundi.
We look forward to engaging with global experts to advance clean energy solutions for sustainable agrifood processing and environmental conservation.
