Finalizing the Curriculum for Solar Cooker Manufacturing Training in Burundi
The teachers of the V2SDF project, led by Marta Fernández and Pablo Florez from the CIFP Tecnológico Industrial de León, have successfully completed the final details of the Solar Cooker Manufacturing course curriculum. This course is specifically adapted to the educational system of Burundi, ensuring that students and trainees receive practical, high-quality training that aligns with local needs and opportunities.
The curriculum focuses on providing the necessary technical knowledge and hands-on skills for the fabrication of solar cookers, a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for cooking in rural areas. The training program covers materials selection, design principles, assembly techniques, and maintenance procedures. By integrating theoretical learning with practical workshops, the course aims to empower teachers and students with valuable expertise that can be applied directly in local communities.
This initiative represents a major step toward sustainable development and energy independence in Burundi. By reducing reliance on firewood and traditional fuels, solar cookers contribute to environmental conservation and economic efficiency. Thanks to the dedication of the V2SDF team, this training program is now ready to be implemented, offering a tangible impact on education, sustainability, and local entrepreneurship.
