Preparing the Ground for Solar cookers and solar Oven Manufacturing Training in Burundi
Dr. Dieudonné from NIRUDI, Laurent, the director of LTCR Mushasha, Radac from Radac Co, and Hermés, the technical director of LTCR Mushasha, are hard at work preparing the facilities for an innovative training workshop. This initiative is part of the V2SDF Project, aimed at empowering communities in Burundi through the production of solar kitchens and ovens.
The training workshop represents a major step forward in sustainable development for the region. By equipping local individuals with the skills to manufacture solar cooking solutions, the project addresses critical challenges such as deforestation, energy access, and environmental sustainability. These solar ovens and kitchens are not only eco-friendly but also cost-effective, offering a viable alternative to traditional cooking methods that heavily rely on firewood and charcoal.
The team’s efforts are focused on creating a prototype training environment that combines practical hands-on learning with theoretical knowledge. The workshop will serve as a model for future training centers across the region, ensuring widespread knowledge dissemination and skill-building.
The collaboration between NIRUDI, LTCR Mushasha, and Radac Co underscores the importance of partnerships in achieving impactful change. Together, they are laying the foundation for a brighter, greener future in Burundi, one solar oven at a time.
